The Duke Blue Devils have officially lost another player to the 2025 NBA Draft. This time, South Sudanese big man Khaman Maluach announced his late decision to enter the draft.
Maluach will now join the likes of Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel, and Tyrese Proctor in the pros. He averaged 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game on 71.2% from the floor.
He waited until the eleventh hour to declare his intention to join the NBA Draft. Shortly after, Blue Devils coach Jon Scheyer gushed about how much he loved him and how much he would miss him.
Jon Scheyer bids farewell to Khaman Maluach
“I’ve absolutely loved coaching Khaman, I’m gonna miss him every single day, he’s got the most contagious personality,” said Scheyer. “He’s got an incredible skillset on the floor, being 7’2 – he’s got great timing, and ball skills are great … for me, the separator is how hard he plays, how competitive he is and he’s not afraid of contact.”

Of course, Maluach is an intriguing prospect because of his physical tools, but it might be a while before he’s ready to make a consistent impact at the professional level.
