Alijah Arenas just canāt catch a break. The son of former All-Star Gilbert Arenas will be looking at a long recovery ahead of him. To be more specific, heāll be out six to eight months.
Apparently, the young guard, who graduated from high school a year earlier to play for the USC Trojans, suffered a significant knee injury that will require him to undergo surgery.

āAlijah is a tremendous worker, teammate, competitor, and person,ā USC coach Eric Musselman told ESPN. āHe is understandably disappointed that he will not be able to take the court to start the season, but his health is our No. 1 priority. We have no doubt that he will come back even stronger. We look forward to supporting him during this process.ā
Arenas is a five-star recruit and one of the most hyped-up players ahead of this college basketball season, even drawing comparisons to future Hall of Famer James Harden.
Standing at 6-foot-6, the talented shooting guard is the No. 13 recruit in the ESPN 100 board, and he set a new CIF LA City Section record after topping the 3,000 plateau in just three seasons in high school.
