<p>Rutgers star <strong>Ace Bailey</strong> has been one of the most polarizing prospects about to enter the NBA for months now. The upside and talent are evident, but he’s still a little raw.</p>



<p>That’s why some people have been shocked to watch his decision not to work out for several teams picking near the top of the<strong> 2025 NBA Draft. </strong>He’s now slipping in most big boards.</p>



<p>And according to ESPN insider Jeremy Woo, this isn’t a coincidence. Apparently, Bailey and his camp are botching things because they’re actively looking to avoid certain teams, namely the <strong>Utah Jazz.</strong></p>



<h2>Ace Bailey doesn’t want to play for the Utah Jazz</h2>



<p><strong><em>“Bailey, who continues sliding down the board in this scenario, doesn’t appear to have much interest in Utah and is viewed by most teams as a riskier bet,”</em></strong> wrote Woo.</p>

<p>The <strong>BYU Cougars</strong> aren’t used to having top-notch prospects in <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball</a>. But now that former NBA player Kevin Young is there, that might finally be a different story.</p>



<p>The Cougars already landed <strong>AJ Dybantsa</strong>, one of the highest-ranked prospects in recent years, and someone who could’ve legitimately made a run at the No. 1 pick this year.</p>



<p>Dtybantsa seems to be one step ahead of the rest of the pack, <strong>as he showed again in a scrimmage with the U19 Team USA</strong>, according to Mitch Harper of KSL Sports.</p>

<p>“<strong><em>During Sunday’s scrimmages, Dybantsa was a standout performer. He reportedly scored the last 11 points for his team to help lead his group in the scrimmage, including the game-winning bucket to give his team a 38-37 victory,” </em></strong>Harper reported.</p>

If you look at any game-winner at any level, I don’t think there’s a lot of wide-open [ones]. You get to a spot, you raise up, and you trust the work that you put in over time. I’m just going to live with what I trusted.”</em></p>

<p>At the end of the day, the Spurs are taking <strong>a big risk </strong>by rolling the dice on a prospect as opposed to going after a proven commodity. Then again, that goes to show you how impressive a prospect Harper is.</p>

<p>Some believe that he’s the most talented player in this class, and he might have a higher upside than<strong> Cooper Flagg</strong>. Then again, it may take a while before he reaches that level.</p>



<p>That’s why his decision not to work out for several teams has turned plenty of heads around the league. Apparently, he’s only going to work out with the <strong>Philadelphia 76ers</strong>, the team in possession of the No. 3 selection. </p>

<p><em>“<strong>Bailey’s camp has informed interested teams that they believe he is a top-3 player in the draft, but also seeks a clear pathway to stardom,</strong> perhaps feeling comfortable that a team will trade up to get him at Nos. 3 or 4, should he drop,”</em> ESPN’s Jonathan Givony wrote.</p>

<p>Bailey was already <strong>a controversial subject among NBA teams</strong>. Now, it seems like no one wants to be the team that passed on him, but they’re not so sure about taking him either. </p>

<p>The Thompson twins haven’t been in the league for long, but they’re already two of the most respected stoppers in the league. They can guard multiple spots,<strong> swat shots, and be deadly in passing lanes.</strong></p>

<p>It’s not so usual to hear<strong> BYU’s name</strong> being called when we talk about the <a href="http://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">college basketball </a>powerhouses. However, that’s going to be a different story in the upcoming season.</p>



<p>Notably, that’s because they’ve gotten their hands on one of the highest-ranked prospects we’ve seen in a while, and everybody will be <strong>keeping tabs on the AJ Dybantsa show.</strong></p>



<p>Dybantsa is projected as an early candidate to be the first-overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. However, before that, he wants to lead the Cougars all the way and <strong>win a national championship</strong>. </p>



<h2>AJ Dybantsa is going for the big prize</h2>



<p><strong><em>“I think we all have one goal in mind, just to win a national championship, there’s nothing less,</em></strong>” Dybantsa said. <em>“We made it to the Sweet 16 last year in [Kevin Young’s] first year of coaching, so I mean, we’re intended to go farther.”</em></p>

<p>At the end of the day, it takes much more than just a player to get the job done. In fact, teams led by freshmen <strong>rarely go the distance</strong>. However, there are always exceptions to that rule.</p>

<p>Not so long ago,<strong> Carmelo Anthony</strong> was wreaking havoc against opposing defenses in the NBA. He was one of the most fearless and dominant scorers in the game.</p>



<p>Now, time has gone by, and Anthony has embraced a different role in his life. He’s now an entrepreneur and podcaster. However, his biggest role<strong> has always been the role of father.</strong></p>



<p>That’s why he’s been able to build such a strong bond with his son, Kiyan. Even after his divorce and public separation from<strong> La La Anthony,</strong> they’ve managed to stay close and have a loving relationship.</p>



<h2>Kiyan and Carmelo Anthony have a special bond</h2>



<p>“<em>We got a different type of connection than everybody else. <strong>Even though you’re my dad, I could talk to you just like I’m talking to one of my bros or one of my friends,”</strong></em> Anthony said in an interview for Instagram.</p>

<p>Now, <strong>Bryce Maximus James</strong>, who turned 18 years old and will play his freshman season at Arizona, is also looking to carry his father’s torch and make it to the pros.</p>



<p>However, he’s not the only one from that clan with big plans for the future. That’s also the case with Chris Paul II, <strong>who’s still in high school</strong>, but is already showing his scoring prowess.</p>

<p>Of course, it will be some time before the young Paul can follow his old man’s footsteps and also make it to the league, but <strong>he clearly has the resources and privileged gene pool.</strong></p>

<p>He put the Iowa Hawkeyes on the map, but more than that, he drew millions of eyeballs to the women’s college basketball game, <strong>which is something no one had done before.</strong></p>



<p>Notably, it didn’t take long<strong> before her college coach realized that she was special.</strong> More than her game and insane shot-making skills, it was her determination to be great.</p>

<p>Bluder claimed that as much as people rave about Clark’s<strong> sharpshooting skills,</strong> and rightfully so, he actually worked on every aspect of the game to master her craft every single day: </p>



<p><strong><em>“Are they willing to put in the work required to be great? Because there are a lot of people who want to be great without really working hard at it, especially in today’s society,”</em></strong> she added.<em> “Caitlin Clark didn’t start out by shooting logo threes. She started out by shooting layups. And people have to remember that. It’s a process. And so I want that work ethic, but I also want a positive attitude in my players. I think having that person in your huddle who’s always negative, it just wears on people. And so having a positive attitude was really important to me.”</em></p>



<p>Clark led her program to back-to-back title games. Unfortunately, they fell short of the goal both times, but she still left campus with some of the <strong>most impressive numbers in college basketball history.</strong></p>

<p>Not so long ago, <strong>NBA Commissioner David Stern</strong> ruled the league with an iron fist. Following the Allen Iverson frenzy, he even set up a dress code to make sure the players looked like professionals instead of hip-hop artists.</p>



<p>The players didn’t have to deal with a<strong> 24/7 news cycle</strong> because social media wasn’t a big thing — or even a thing. But they had to comply with Stern’s long set of policies.</p>



<p>With that in mind, Syracuse-bound <strong>Kiyan Anthony</strong> asked his father, Carmelo, whether he thinks the players have more freedom now and how it may have affected his game.</p>

<p>Commissioner David Stern <strong>kept the players on a short leash</strong>, and even Anthony admitted that he used to reach out to him to let him know everything he was up to, including who he was hanging out with. The game has changed, and so has the world. </p>

<p><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/college-basketball" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">College basketball</a> has come a long way. Back in the day, everybody knew that programs paid the players to play for them, <strong>even when it wasn’t allowed by the NCAA.</strong></p>



<p>Now, with NIL, it’s all fair and square, and while that has leveled the field for everybody else to hop in and compete for the <strong>top-notch recruits,</strong> some think it has taken something away from the game.</p>



<p>Notably, that includes former Kentucky legend<strong> Anthony Davis</strong>. When asked about the state of college basketball, the NBA champion admitted that he wasn’t much of a fan. </p>



<h2>Anthony Davis shares his thoughts on the NIL era</h2>



<p>“<strong><em>It’s tough because obviously, they didn’t have that when I was in college. It kinda takes away from the game a little bit because of—and I’m not hating—it takes away from the integrity in the sense of players are only going to certain schools because of the money,”</em></strong> Davis told Sports Illustrated.<em> “Because one guy can leave the next year, transfer—it gets tough when you start talking about culture. That kind of goes out the window, in my opinion.”</em></p>

<p>Of course, the players are entitled to getting paid for their talents, especially considering all the hard work they put in and <strong>all the revenue they generate for the NCAA and their programs.</strong></p>

<p>Then again, from a player and character development standpoint, not growing through adversity and just leaving when you don’t get playing time <strong>might not be ideal. </strong></p>
