Bryce Harper showed up a few days ago with a buzzcut that caught the attention of some Philadelphia Phillies fans—and it turns out the team may be benefitting from the new look. Since the haircut, the No. 3 has posted some pretty impressive numbers.

Harper was first seen sporting the new cut on May 12 with the Phillies. While his performance in that game wasn’t anything special, he’s made the most of his next 21 plate appearances, going 7-for-15 during that stretch.

In addition to those hits, he’s racked up 4 RBIs and drawn 5 walks. That adds up to 7 hits over five games since May 12—clear signs that he’s seeing the ball better. Even more notable: he’s only struck out twice in that span.

No home runs yet, but Harper is in strong form

One curious stat: Harper still hasn’t hit a home run since the haircut. But despite that, he’s rocking a 1.134 OPS and a .563 slugging percentage—proof that he’s locked in at the plate. He currently has 7 homers on the season, and breaking that dry spell may just be a matter of time.
