Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is entering the 2025 MLB season with a clear vision. He knows the Toronto Blue Jays have a significant goal this year, and he believes every teammate is prepared to contribute toward making it a reality.
In his latest comments to Hazel Mae of Sportsnet, Guerrero Jr. emphasized the Blue Jays’ ambitions for the MLB season, stating, “We’re going to give all we have to help the team win and try to bring a World Series Championship back to Toronto.”
According to Guerrero Jr., this year looks promising for the Blue Jays, despite their inability to reach the postseason last year, finishing with a 74-88 record. However, it was a standout season for Guerrero Jr., who posted a .323 batting average, scored 98 runs, recorded 199 hits, and hit 30 home runs.
In the past 10 years, the Blue Jays have made a total of five postseason appearances, with the most recent being in the 2023 season. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been part of only three of those five runs, but it hasn’t been entirely his fault that the team hasn’t advanced further.
When was the last time the Blue Jays won a World Series?
The Blue Jays’ most recent World Series title came in 1993, with a decisive 4-2 victory over the Phillies. Prior to that, they secured the championship in 1992, also in a 4-2 series win against the Braves. These remain the franchise’s only titles and mark their sole back-to-back championships to date.
