Facedown against the wall—that’s how Ceddanne Rafaela pulled off an extraordinary catch to save the ball and prevent the Toronto Blue Jays from hitting a double, or worse, against the Boston Red Sox.

Ceddanne Rafaela is likely still feeling the pain from his incredible catch at Fenway Park. On the first pitch, a Toronto Blue Jays’ SS Bichette launched a deep drive to the outfield, forcing Rafaela to sprint and throw himself against the wall, risking his body to prevent a play that could have hurt the Boston Red Sox.

Rafaela is in his third season with the Red Sox and is already proving how valuable he is to the team. Last season, he appeared in 152 games, and in 2025, he has played 10 games, including this one against the Blue Jays. Up to that point, he had been performing well in the outfield.
