Utah Jazz’s big Rudy Gobert has finally responded to Shaquille O’Neal’s bad comments on him and his contract extension. Shaq was recently in an interview when he took a jab at Gobert, explaining that kids that average 11 points per game in the NBA could get $200 million in the future.

That was the beginning of that since Shaq didn’t stop there. The legendary center went on to continue roasting Gobert on social media. More recently, he shared an edit of him dunking the ball over Rudy Gobert with a huge caption to make it clear that there was no competition between them.

Shaq left a big message and made things escalate real quickly. This started as a fun comment in an interview but now things have gotten to the next level and Gobert isn’t happy with any of this.

Rudy Gobert responds to Shaquille O’Neal’s trash-talking on social media

The French star had enough of that and took to Twitter to express how he feels and the differences between him and the 4x NBA champion. He made it clear there was no beef and instead of throwing shade at other people, he celebrated everybody who finds success.

“There is no beef. If people wanna keep speaking negatively about me or keep discrediting what I do it’s on them and all that does is show who they are. I will always be happy for a brother beating the odds. And I’m gonna keep beating the odds.” Gobert wrote on Twitter.

It remains to be seen if Shaq will apologize or will continue the back and forth, which looks more likely, to be honest. The Big Diesel is known for roasting people like it’s nothing and he showed that once again.

This was something that could have been avoided and even though Gobert said there was no beef, this could be the start of something between these two. Shaq already had beef with JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard so this could be another modern big man to enter a feud with the former player-turned-analyst.
