The Golden State Warriors have been on a strong run, winning nine of their last ten games. Their most recent victory came in a 117-114 win over the Toronto Raptors, but the biggest concern for the team came when star guard Stephen Curry exited the game early. Fortunately, the Warriors have provided a positive update regarding Curry’s injury status.

Curry played only 25 minutes in the win, contributing 17 points, two rebounds, and one assist before leaving the game. The 37-year-old guard took a hard fall to the floor after colliding with Jonathan Mogbo, which sent him straight to the locker room.

However, the Warriors released a statement explaining that an MRI revealed Curry had sustained a pelvic contusion, but no structural damage. This was a welcome relief for both Warriors fans and head coach Steve Kerr.

He will be re-evaluated on Monday,” the report added.

How many games could Curry miss?

While it’s never ideal for a player of Curry’s caliber to miss games, especially as the season heads into its final stretch, it doesn’t appear to be a major concern for the four-time NBA champion.

According to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints, Curry is expected to rejoin the team during the Warriors’ six-game road trip. “Warriors will start a 6-game road trip on Monday, with their next game being on Tuesday vs. Miami. Curry will rejoin the team at some point during this trip,” Siegel wrote.

Jimmy Butler’s take on Curry’s absence

Warriors star Jimmy Butler spoke about the challenge of playing without Curry on the court, stressing the importance of playing perfect basketball to compensate for his absence.

I think the message is going to be, whether he’s with us or whether he’s not, hopefully, he is, but if he isn’t, that’s just more perfect basketball that we’re gonna have to play,” Butler said.

He also pointed out that the team must avoid mistakes, knowing they won’t have a player capable of single-handedly turning the game around. “We can’t afford to turn the ball over. We can’t afford to foul because we don’t have the one individual that can automatically get us back into the game,” he continued. “But we want the guy. We want our guy with us”.
