Adam Gase and the New York Jets can’t get any lower than where they are now. The Jets are dead last with a 0-13 record, the worst record of any team in the NFL. Not only have they been losing, but they are also getting blown out as their last game was a 40-3 spanking at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks.

In his first season Gase posted a 7-9 record, but this season the Jets have been hard to watch.  There have been rumors that Gase will surely be fired by the end of the season, although it just seems like a formality at the moment that he finishes out the season. Gase even removed himself from calling the offensive plays of the team by week 7, although it has never been made official, Adam Gase seems to be going through the motions before his eventual firing.

Recently, Adam Gase spoke to the New York Post where he mentioned that he failed to meet the expectations of the fans and the ownership group. Gase also mentioned that he could not have asked to work for a better person than Jets CEO Christopher Johnson, who he says he “disappointed”

Adam Gase comments about the New York Jets 0-13 season

“I’ve tried to figure out where things went wrong, what can we change. You’re trying to evaluate things as you go and adjust to try to fix whatever the issue would be for that month or that three games or four games. At the end of the day, it’s about winning. We haven’t done that. For him (Christopher Johnson) not to feel a playoff feel of being competitive in December it’s disappointing to me that we haven’t been able to do that for him.”

In regard to Johnson, Gase concluded: “I’ve told him multiple times he deserves better — especially with how he is with our players, our staff, our coaches, anybody involved in this organization, I couldn’t ask to work for a better guy.”
