Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs have had a very active free agency, trying to maintain a competitive roster to win the Super Bowl. Now, after losing Justin Reid, Brett Veach has signed another safety to add depth at the position according to a report by Tom Pelissero.
“Reunion: Veteran safety Mike Edwards is signing with the Kansas City Chiefs on a one-year deal, per source. Back with the team he won a Super Bowl with two years ago.”
Although Patrick Mahomes will have a great offense with names like Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Hollywood Brown, the defense remains a question mark heading into the next season.
Who just signed with the Chiefs?
Mike Edwards just signed with the Chiefs after trying his luck in 2024 with different teams like the Buffalo Bills, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and also the Tennessee Titans.
In 2023, Edwards was part of the team that won Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers. Being familiar with the Chiefs’ different schemes, Steve Spagnuolo has a reliable name back on the roster.
