Dak Prescott knows he’s facing a unique opportunity to make a big statement in the upcoming NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys, and to do so, he’s hoping to have the most competitive roster possible at his side. One of the team’s brightest stars, Micah Parsons, still has his contract situation up in the air and is hoping to get it resolved in the near future.

The situation surrounding the former Penn State defensive end has become a hot topic — even among the Cowboys’ top locker room leaders. During his recent media appearance at the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala, Prescott addressed the matter, offering some advice to Parsons: he encouraged him to ‘stay positive’ as contract talks with the front office continue.

“I don’t have the full answer for it, or I think all of mine would’ve been done a lot earlier than they were,” the talented QB said, per the team’s official website. “For him, just stay positive. Understand and make sure that his team knows what he wants and what he believes.”

That’s why he reiterated the importance of reaching a deal in the near future, ensuring that Parsons need to be available to Brian Schottenheimer from Week 1 onward.

Parsons’ message regarding his situation

In recent weeks, the spotlight in Cowboys’ world has been squarely on Micah Parsons, and as a result, on Jerry Jones. The team’s owner is at the forefront of negotiations for the pass rusher’s contract extension, which is being handled step by step by his agent, David Mulugheta.

As the situation continues to unfold, and in response to the Dallas owner’s comments about his agent, Micah Parsons sent a bold warning to Jerry Jones regarding his contract extension.

David is the best, and I will not do any deal without him involved! Like anyone with good sense, I hired experts for a reason,” the DE wrote on his X account. He also added: “There’s no one I trust more when it comes to negotiating contracts than David! There will be no backdoors in this contract negotiation.”
