Russell Wilson has been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL for quite some time now, having a terrific career with Seattle Seahawks, playing in Super Bowls and winning the Vince Lombardi trophy with his team.
Although the Seahawks aren’t as intimidating as before, the quarterback has remained competitive and has led his team to have very good seasons in past years. This season the Hawks are one of the best teams in the NFC and Wilson could be set for a very entertaining postseason.
He’s done a lot for Seattle and now the player could be adding more silverware to his collection with a win in the upcoming Super Bowl. Wilson was recently tipped as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, being compared to Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
Former NFL quarterback says Russell Wilson belongs to the same list as Tom Brady, Peyton Manning
Former NFL star-turned-analyst Kurt Warner has expressed his true feelings on Russell Wilson, putting him as one of the greatest to ever do it, even comparing him to Peyton Manning and Tom Brady for the fact that Wilson gets better every year.
“He reminds me of the Tom Bradys and the Peyton Mannings — every year they seem to get better,” said Warner, via Adam Jude of The Seattle Times. “You’ll look at previous years and go, ‘OK, they’ve maxed it out.’ But then all of a sudden they find a way to get better, and you’re going, ‘How in the world did they do that?’ ”
Warner even revealed that Wilson has reached out to him eager to learn more and more about the game. Contrary to what other QBs do, Wilson has been a student of the game and that has been a constant since he entered the league.
“What’s impressive about Russ is, he’s reaching out and calling,” said Warner. “He is already great, and you might think there’s no need to ask for help, but that speaks to his humility and desire to want to be great. I’ve enjoyed the heck out of it.”
Warner won a Super Bowl with St. Louis Rams and was named NFL MVP twice, so his voice should matter when it comes to these topics. Wilson is often overlooked and you could say underrated by plenty of fans, but this man has done nothing but thrive during his time in the league.
It remains to be seen if he can take the Seahawks to the promised land once again but there is no doubt that Seattle have a very good team that can make a lot of noise in the 2021 NFL playoff.
