What seemed like an impossible dream a couple of months ago is now a reality: Dez Bryant is officially back in the National Football League after signing a deal to join the Baltimore Ravensā practice squad.
Whether heāll end up making the team or not is yet to be seen, especially after such a long layoff and the career-threatening injury he suffered when he signed with the New Orleans Saints after being let go by the Dallas Cowboys.
However, it seems like the veteran wide receiver is already turning a lot of heads in Maryland, as reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson had nothing but praise and admitted to being impressed with him after watching him practice.
Lamar Jackson Lauds Front Office For Signing Dez Bryant
āOh man, itās tremendous. We just have to see what heās capable of. I see him on āIGā [Instagram] a lot doing his thing. Heās grinding [and] getting after it. [Executive vice president] Mr. Ozzie [Newsome] and [General Manager] Eric [DeCosta], those guys did a great job upstairs bringing him in. We just have to see if heās ready, see what heās capable of and go from there,ā Jackson told the Ravensā official website after practice.
Bryant was one of the best wide receivers in the NFL during his tenure with the Dallas Cowboys but his personality and the teamās lack of playoff success eventually made them move on from him.
Now, heās got a prime opportunity to play for a Super Bowl in one of the biggest contenders in the league. The Ravens are currently 5-1 so itās not like thereās much room for improvement. Then again, you never have enough weapons, and adding a veteran like Bryant to their current roster is certainly a move in the right direction as they look to put their playoff woes behind.
