He was recently released by the New York Jets in a very surprising turn of events. Now a free agent, he has strongly criticized his former team over the way they informed him of their decision to move on.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Thursday, Aaron Rodgers revealed that new head coach Aaron Glenn made him fly across the country to New York—only to tell him face-to-face that he was no longer part of the team’s plans.

“I meet with the coach, we start talking… he runs out of the room. Then he comes back with the GM and I’m like, alright. So we sit down, and I think we’re going to have this long conversation. Twenty seconds in, Glenn says: ‘You sure you wanna play football?’”
Rodgers: “I said yes.”
Glenn, immediately after: “We’re going in another direction.”

Has Aaron Rodgers announced his new team already?
Rodgers was invited by Pat McAfee—a close friend—to appear on his show Thursday. Many expected him to announce his next team, but he didn’t offer even a hint.
