Building a roster for a new NFL season often presents a challenge for both the coaching staff and the front office. Just ask the Jacksonville Jaguars, led by Trevor Lawrence, who are losing a former Super Bowl champion to the Houston Texans, where the player in question will join forces with CJ Stroud.

After becoming a free agent, veteran cornerback Ronald Darby has agreed to join the Texans on a one-year deal. With this move, DeMeco Ryans’ team adds valuable experience to their roster, while the Jaguars lose a key defensive player.

The news was reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter, who, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account, confirmed the arrival of the former Florida State player to another AFC South team.

Another player had already made the move to the Texans

Darby’s move to a fierce AFC South rival like the Texans is, ironically, not the only case of a Jaguars player choosing to take this step.

Days ago, it was confirmed that wide receiver Christian Kirk had arrived in Houston, after being released by the franchise following last season. The news was announced by journalist Adam Schefter.

“Jaguars plan to release veteran WR Christian Kirk, per source,” the reporter stated via @AdamSchefter. In this way, both Trevor Lawrence and Liam Coen have lost a key piece of their offense ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
