Philadelphia Eagles lead the race for… Deshaun Watson

Even though he’s unlikely to play at the beginning of the upcoming NFL season, multiple teams continue to show interest in trading for Houston Texans’ Deshaun Watson.

It’s been a while since we last heard something about Houston Texans’ star Deshaun Watson. First, he was all over the NFL news because of his desire to be traded, and now, for the 22 civil lawsuits he’s facing.

Things kind of cooled off lately with Aaron Rodgers stealing most of the headlines but that doesn’t mean that Watson’s complicated situation has gone away. If anything, it seems like this saga is far from over.

However, that doesn’t mean that multiple teams aren’t interested in making a run at him. According to Philadelphia Eagles’ sideline reporter Howard Eskin, the Eagles are currently leading the race for his services.

NFL Rumors: Philadelphia Eagles Could Land Deshaun Watson

“Based on the information that I’ve got, when Deshaun Watson is traded, I think there’s a 90 percent chance that he will be with the Philadelphia Eagles. And just based on all the information that I’ve gotten, that’s what I’ve come down with,” Eskin said on WIP Afternoon, as quoted by NBC Sports’ Pro Football Talk.

It’s worth noting that there’s a huge chance that Watson won’t be able to play at all this season. The 22 civil lawsuits are still pending a resolution and the NFL is likely to put him on paid leave, thus complicating a trade.

Also, the Denver Broncos and Miami Dolphins are expected to continue pushing to get Watson in the case he’s cleared to play and traded, as he hasn’t changed his stance on playing for the Texans again.

Whatever the case, it seems like the Clemson product has already played his last snap in a Texans uniform. But whether he’ll be able to be back on the gridiron this season or not is yet to be seen, and we wouldn’t put our money on it right now.
