The New York Giants pulled off the upset against the Seattle Seahawks, one of the best and well-rounded teams in the NFL this season. Being part of the NFC East, the Giants have struggled during the entire season to find a good version of themselves and it seems like they’re reaching that point.

The victory against the Seahawks was very valuable for them and very painful for the Hawks and their star quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson has been considered an MVP candidate all season long and his performance on Sunday afternoon left a lot to desire.

New York stopped Seattle and only allowed them a season-low 12 points, giving them their first loss of the season at Lumen Field. Wilson knows that wasn’t a good game for him and his team and took responsibility for the bad result.

Russell Wilson takes the blame on Seahawks' ugly loss against Giants

New York really had a great game but that doesn’t excuse Wilson from having a bad game. Fortunately, he’s aware that teams could have been better for them but especially for him and his game.

“If anybody’s critical, I’m going to be critical of myself first,” Wilson said, via Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune.

“We’ve got to bet better. We’ve got to be cleaner. It starts with me. …I always start with me first, because you’ve got to look at yourself first. And I think for me, just trying to find a couple more drives here and there, that’s the reality.”

Russ suffered a couple of hits from the defensive, getting sacked five times during the game, throwing an interception and losing a fumble in Sunday's game.

“Obviously, you always want to eliminate sacks,” Wilson said. “You also don’t want to eliminate the key moments.”

Wilson is ready to show he can lead his team to the promised land as he did in 2014. Russ doesn’t have the defense he had back in the day but his offense is incredibly talented, with players like DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. That wasn’t enough to be the Giants and now they need to improve their level as the end of the season is getting closer.

Seattle is part of the hardest division not only in the NFC but the entire NFL. They need to step up if they want to beat the Rams and Cardinals.
