A renewed sense of hope has taken over the New York Giants’ facilities, as the team looks to return to prominence in the NFC East. Bringing in Russell Wilson this past NFL offseason was no coincidence—his veteran presence is expected to elevate the young talent around him.
Malik Nabers’ second year in the league is expected to be far more promising than his rookie season—especially with the arrival of Wilson as the new quarterback. Still, staying healthy throughout the competition will be one of the key factors to his success.
A lingering foot issue has been bothering the former LSU standout—an injury that dates back to his college football days. In a conversation with Kay Adams, the wide receiver opened up about the situation.
“It’s like a mosquito that don’t want to go away,” Nabers said Monday, on the Up & Adams Show. “I’m trying to shoo it away. But I’ve been doing a great job with Russell (Wilson), trainers, you know, I’ve been using his physical therapist guys. I’ve been doing an excellent job of just staying on track of it and having his people, having my people, all together, trying to work on keeping me as healthy as possible.

Malik Nabers #1 of the New York Giants speaks to the press during training camp at Quest Diagnostics Training Center on July 23, 2025 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
“We’re moving in the right direction. We’re just staying on top of it so it don’t give me any problems later on down the line.”

A connection full of promise
Russell Wilson’s arrival brings a veteran presence and Super Bowl-winning experience to Brian Daboll‘s offense. His deep ball accuracy and playmaking ability outside the pocket could revitalize the passing game, providing a seasoned leader to a developing roster. Wilson’s capacity to extend plays and deliver under pressure offers a crucial element of stability and big-play potential.
Malik Nabers, with his explosive speed, exceptional route-running, and reliable hands, immediately provides a dynamic downfield threat. His ability to create separation and gain significant yards after the catch complements Wilson’s strengths perfectly. Together, their combined talents could potentially elevate them into an elite offensive duo in the NFC, capable of consistently challenging defenses and driving the team’s scoring efforts.
