The Kansas City Chiefs’ most recent appearance still lingers, ending in a tough Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The good news for fans is that Travis Kelce will return for at least one more season alongside Patrick Mahomes and HC Andy Reid, looking for redemption. And a particular detail about the veteran could give the franchise even more reason to believe heading into the upcoming NFL season.

Minicamp is set to begin this week, and Kelce has confirmed he’ll be present and available for the coaching staff from day one. Not only is this a promising sign of his commitment and preparation, but also of the physical condition in which he’ll report to the team facilities.

According to NFL insider Jeremy Fowler during an appearance on ESPN, the tight end is not only arriving in top physical shape, but also noticeably leaner than he was at the start of previous seasons. These are signs that certainly generate optimism throughout the organization.

ā€œThe Chiefs knew that Kelce was going to be gone this week,ā€ the insider said. ā€œHe’s expected back for minicamp. He’ll address the media, be on the practice field—all that fun stuff. And he will debut a bit of a slimmer look. He’s told people close to him that he’s lost about 25 pounds this offseason.ā€
