It wonât be just another NFL season for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Trevor Lawrence and his team are aiming to make a major impact in the upcoming campaign, and preparations for that goal are slowly taking shape. The QB is gradually building chemistry with his new teammates and has shared his first impressions on the process.
Liam Coen will be in charge of leading this team as it enters a new phase of trying to reestablish itself in the league. Alongside him, several new faces have joined the roster, meaning the veteran core will need to adapt to this fresh approach in the pursuit of positive results.
Among the new arrivals, Travis Hunter stands out as one of the most notable names â and the Jaguars already have a plan in place for how to utilize him moving forward. The big question now is: can Lawrence and the rest of the team adapt to all the new additions in Jacksonville?
The QBâs take on the teamâs early moves
The Jaguars are slowly beginning to show signs of their new direction under Liam Coen and his staff, ahead of a minicamp that will serve as the first real test for the players. Trevor Lawrence spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the teamâs early developments.

Head Coach Liam Coen of the Jacksonville Jaguars looks on during Rookie Minicamp at Miller Electric Center on May 10, 2025 in Jacksonville, Florida.
âItâs been good. There are things where itâs not always perfect and especially at practice when youâre first learning guysâ timing and how they run routes, and trying to get your anticipation downâ, Lawrence said during a media session.

âLike, I love to throw with anticipation, so Iâm not going to come out here and practice waiting on guys to come out of breaks. Like, thatâs not realistic in the games. Youâre throwing it early, youâre throwing it before the guysâ breaks.â
The importance of preparation
Mistakes can happen â that much is clear. A bad game, an off-target throw, a fumble, or a missed assignment are all part of football. What matters most is ensuring that preparation is as close to perfect as possible, in order to minimize those errors. After all, games are often decided by the smallest of details.
âI think sometimes you leave the field some days, and youâre like, I wasnât the cleanest. Because maybe you missed some, or maybe the timing was off, or a guy took an extra step, but that stuff, once that happens, you learn from it. If you just wait on guys to come out of breaks every time, every ballâs going to look good. Then, in a game when you have to throw with anticipation, youâre going to miss a lot of them,â Lawrence stated.
âI think this is the time to really nail down that timing and work on it, instead of waiting. I think overall, I improved drastically over the offseason.â
