Uruguay have won the most Copa America titles, lifting the trophy on 15 occasions. Their last victory ten years ago has given them the edge over Argentina, with whom they were tied for a long time with 14 titles each.

However, La Albiceleste’s 28-year drought cleared the way for La Celeste to surpass them. Anyways, the battle is still tight and if Lionel Messi can get his side to a long-awaited triumph this year, Argentina would share the first placeagain. In the meantime, Uruguay continue havingmore Copa America trophies than any other team.
