Mexico will visit El Salvador for Matchday 6 of the Final Round of the Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers 2022 on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. El Tri are back at the top of the standings, while El Salvador are sixth on the table after losing to Costa Rica

El Salvador have to turn the page on Wednesday after being defeated 2-1 by Costa Rica on Sunday. La Selecta have five points after two losses, two draws and only one victory over Panama. Now, they have to try to get back on track against a rival that they have only beaten four times.

Meanwhile, Mexico are coming to this match with confidence. ‘El Tri’ remain unbeaten in the Octagon so far, with three victories and two draws. Tata Martino’s team will try to add another three points after their win over Honduras last time out to keep at the top of the table.

El Salvador’s confirmed lineup

Against Costa Rica, El Salvador finished the match with 10 men, with Narcisco Orellana shown a red card in the 85th minute after he hit Joseph Campbell’s ankle when he attempted a tackle. So, he won’t be available for this match against Mexico.

This will be El Salvador’s lineup: Mario Gonzalez; Alexander Larin, Mario Jocobo, Eduardo Vigil, Bryan Tamacas; Isaac Portillo, Marvin Monterroza, Alex Roldan; Enrico Dueñas, Darwin Ceres, Joaquin Rivas.
