Crazy as it may sound, Lionel Messi is a free agent. The Argentine legend has not reached an agreement with Barcelona to extend his contract before June30 and he could sign with any other club for free if he wants to. However, he is expected to sign a new deal with the Cules soon.

The 34-year-old megastar was close to leaving the club last year amid a terrible atmosphere after Barca’s embarrassing Champions League eliminationat the hands of Bayern. Despite he pushed hard to leave, Messi eventually backed down and stayedb for the remaining year of his contract.

However, that season has already passed and he hasn’t put pen to paper to renew yet. Multiple reports state he will continue in Barcelona, but that didn’t prevent the soccer community from picturing Messi with other colors.
