The Formula One World Championship 2021 will resume this weekend with the British GP at the Silverstone circuit. This time, there’s plenty of things to be excited about: fans are returning, the Mercedes and Red Bullclash and, of course, the new race format that will be introduced this week, called The Sprint.

This weekend there will be a new way to set the starting grid of Sunday’s Grand Prix. On Saturday, the teams will take part in a 100km race, of only 18 laps with no mandatory pits, and each pilot can use the tyre they wish. The top 3 will receive points for the Championship as well.

On Friday, pilots will have a training session as usual and in the afternoon they will take part in a three-part qualifying session for The Sprint. This new format promises more excitment along the three days of competition. Also, it could mean a chance for more teams to compete for the top.
