Maroney represented the USA in Artistic Gymnastics at the 2012 London Olympics being part of a highly praised team dubbed “Fierce Five” thatwon the gold medal. McKayla Maroney retired from gymnastics only a few months before the 2016Rio Olympics, and one year later she said to be a victim of sexual abuse by the former USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar, who has also been accused of assaulting more women.

After quitting the sport, Maroney began to pursue her dream of becoming an artist and has done different things, from singing to becoming a social media star. She has already released three singles and also appeared in TV commercials.

Maroney has 1.3 millionfollowers on Instagram, where she also runs another accountabout skincare and mental health advice. Shealso used to bea TikTok heavy user, but her content is no longer available.Additionally, the Olympic gold medalist has recently stated she is also writinga book to tell her story and reflect on her gymnastics career.
