<p>Stevenson, 25, <strong>aims to become the Patriots’ primary option</strong> on the ground. While an ankle injury ended his season prematurely last year, the Oklahoma product also <strong>faced competition in his three seasons at Gillette Stadium</strong>, with James White, Damien Harris, and Ezekiel Elliott at his position.</p>



<p>But now that he’s been left as the most experienced player in a young RB room, Stevenson <strong>wants to prove his worth as his four-year, $4,229,056 contract expires at the end of 2024</strong>. He hopes the rest of his teammates can contribute as well, but Stevenson <strong>wants to lead the way</strong>.</p>

<h2>Patriots need to improve in offense</h2>

<p><em>“Tom and I had a number of discussions about how Bill treated him. Tommy is very sensitive</em>.<strong> He was always looking for Bill’s approval, almost in a father-son <em>kind of way. <p>That makes Belichick the most successful coach of all time, which is why it makes so much noise to see him fail to land a head coaching job for 2024. Many would have expected Belichick to have plenty of offers on the table, but it hasn’t been the case. While Brady cannot explain how the hiring process of a coach works, he <strong>knows what is like to hit the open market</strong> in the NFL.</p>

<h2>Brady, Belichick fare differently after breakup</h2>



<p>Brady’s departure from Foxborough in 2020 <strong>proved to be a turning point for everyone affected by the change</strong>. While for the quarterback it meant an opportunity to prove his doubters wrong, it <strong>turned out to be a painful loss</strong> for Belichick and the Patriots.</p>



<p>Brady immediately settled in at the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/tampa-bay-buccaneers">Tampa Bay Buccaneers</a>, leading the team to Super Bowl victory in his very first season away from New England. The Patriots, on the other hand, failed to make the playoffs that year. <strong>And it only went worse</strong>.</p>



<p>Though the organization seemed to be getting back on its feet in 2021, when rookie quarterback <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/mac-jones">Mac Jones</a> gave reasons for optimism by leading the team to its first postseason appearance since Brady left, it <strong>didn’t take long for everything to fall apart.</strong></p>



<h3>Belichick fails to succeed without Brady</h3>



<p>Jones and the Patriots’ offense took many steps back in 2022, as the franchise finished the season with a losing record to fall short from a playoff berth again. The worst was yet to come, as 2023 proved to be <strong>such a terrible year</strong> that it ended with Belichick’s time at Gillette Stadium.</p>

<p>The Patriots finished bottom of the AFC East at 4-13, the worst record in the Belichick era, and the coach paid the price for it. While Brady continued to find success in Tampa Bay by making the playoffs in all three seasons with the team, the best Belichick could do without him was <strong>a Wild Card appearance in four years</strong>.</p>

<p>That lack of success without Brady, in addition to his age (71 years old) and authority he got used to having at the Patriots may have been reasons why teams passed up on Belichick this offseason. Shortly after it was reported that the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl/washington-commanders-leave-bill-belichick-without-a-job-after-announcing-new-head-coach-20240201-BUS-101487.html">Commanders would hire Dan Quinn</a> as their new head coach, the 27-year-old threw shade at the former Patriots coach.</p>



<p>“<em><strong>The ‘greatest coach of All time’ did not get hired out of 6 Head Coaching jobs open. I think that debate can be put to rest now</strong></em>,” Humphrey wrote as Washington’s head coaching job was the only opening left.</p>



<p>Humphrey’s post immediately went viral on the Internet, surpassing 3 million views in just a few hours. Unsurprisingly, his tweet <strong>gave a lot to talk about</strong>, and it didn’t sit well with Belichick fans.</p>



<p>But the Ravens player <strong>only took time to address one of his replies</strong>. Barstool Sports founder and owner Dave Portnoy reacted to Humphrey’s take with an interesting question, while taking dig at the cornerback: <em>“Would Tom Brady get a starting job at age 71? Worry about Lamar throwing into quadruple coverage with the game on the line….”.</em></p>

<p>For years, Belichick made all the decisions, both minor and major, for the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-england-patriots" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New England Patriots.</a></strong> It worked out perfectly, with<strong> </strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/tom-brady" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Tom Brady</strong> </a>cementing himself as the greatest quarterback of all time and leading them to <strong>six <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/super-bowl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Super Bowl</a> rings.</strong></p>



<p>Brady’s departure, however, <strong>stained Belichick’s otherwise perfect legacy. </strong>Not only was he responsible for his exit, but he also failed to find any sort of success without his stellar pupil, making some people question whether he was always a byproduct of his quarterback.</p>



<p>Recently, <strong>Tom Brady Sr.</strong> shed some light on what transpired between him and his son, and while he admits that Belichick is an elite coach, he also thinks <strong>he’s not good with people and has a bit of an ego.</strong></p>

<h2>Tom Brady’s Father Rips Bill Belichick’s Interpersonal Skills</h2>



<p><strong><em>“Bill is tough,”</em></strong> Brady Sr. said. “<em><strong>He runs a military system. It’s a different generation. Bill is a great, great, great coach. But his interpersonal skills are horrible. </strong>That’s the bottom line. How many times has he said — back in ’15 or ’16 — that he wanted to win without Tommy? When he went without Tommy, he didn’t know what he was losing. You’re losing more than just a quarterback.<strong> Ego sometimes gets in the way of things. I think it did with Bill. Now, he’s in a situation where he’s gotten crucified for the last few years by everybody and a lot of luster has come off his rose.”</strong></em></p>



<p>Belichick <strong>infamously wanted to trade Brady multiple times. </strong>Brady resented him and felt disrespected, and he went on to win another Super Bowl with the <strong>Tampa Bay Buccaneers.</strong></p>



<p>The Patriots, on the other hand, <strong>became a bottom-feeding team and haven’t even won a playoff game since he left.</strong> Now, no one seems to be even slightly interested in giving Belichick the keys to their team.</p>



<h2>Kraft Apologized For His Mistake</h2>



<p>Belichick was the one who convinced <strong>Robert Kraft </strong>that Brady was done, which was a breaking point in their relationship that eventually led to his dismissal. At least the team owner reached out to the Bradys with a mea culpa:</p>

That doesn’t mean his career is over, though. <strong>Many teams could still want him in 2025</strong>, especially if things don’t go to plan with their current coaches. And it looks like the <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/philadelphia-eagles">Philadelphia Eagles</a></strong> could be one of those teams.</p>



<p>According to Greg Bedard of <em>Boston Sports Journal</em>, the Eagles considered hiring Belichick if they didn’t find a solution with <strong><a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/nick-sirianni">Nick Sirianni</a></strong> after a disappointing 2023 season. In fact, Philadelphia could still revisit that interest in the event of another underwhelming campaign.</p>
