<p>But as worried as he is about Morant, Stephen A. still believes<strong> he shouldn’t be suspended for a year</strong>. The league wants to make an example out of it and will likely lay the hammer on him:</p>



<p><em>“Adam Silver pretty much indicated that he knows what he’s going to do, but he doesn’t want it to be a distraction from the NBA Finals,” </em>Smith said on his podcast. <strong><em>“We know it’s not good news. Because if it was good news, why not just announce it and move on with the Finals? There are some people who are saying Ja Morant should be suspended for the year.”</em></strong></p>



<p>“<em>Let me be very, very clear I will be the first to raise holy hell with all that I have if he is suspended for the year. <p>Police from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee had to conduct a welfare check on Ja Morant this Wednesday, according to <em>The Commerical Appeal</em>. The guard posted phrases saying<strong> <em>“Love ya ma,” “Love ya pops” </em>and <em>“You da greatest baby girl, love ya”</em></strong>, alongside <strong>pictures of each member of his family</strong>. The stories have already been deleted.</p>



<p>All those images <strong>alerted the police</strong>, NBA fans and, of course, his family. The last picture was of himself alongside the word <strong><em>“Bye”</em></strong>. Officers checked on <strong>Ja Morant</strong> and then the Sheriff’s Office released a statement about his status.</p>

<p>Morant was suspended for eight games during the season for an incident involving a gun. Now it was his own franchise who decided to act after another episode of that type. “We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant. <strong>He is suspended from all team activities pending league review</strong>. We have no further comment at this time”, the Grizzlies said in a statement.</p>
