“Now, knowing what this means,” Malone added. “It was just a really truly defining moment in this franchise’s history because I think everything at that point in time changed and changed for the better. It was the best decision I ever made.“



Not even Mike Malone ever thought that decision would lead to this, as Jokic has surpassed all projections and expectations, reminding us that some things simply cannot be measured.

“There are other obvious internal dynamics at play,” Slater continued. “The Green preseason punch of Poole left a locker room scar that didn’t heal and might never. The Warriors are operating under the assumption that both Green and Poole can again be on the same roster and push toward the same championship goal next season without issue.”

“If you’re Philly and you are going to lose Harden, and now I have this shooter, that’s probably a better fit with Embiid anyway. And I have Tobias Harris on an expiring contract, a couple of future draft picks I could probably throw that I could probably find in my pocket somewhere.”



Beal, however, has a no-trade clause on the five-year deal he signed with the Washington Wizards last year. He seems committed to the team of the capital, but who knows. Maybe pursuing a ring with Embiid makes Beal change his plans.

“For the Suns, swapping Paul for Russell and Beasley makes them younger and gives Booker one of his close friends to play with,” Swartz added. “For a team short on depth, Beasley gives Phoenix’s bench a veteran shooter who should thrive off kickouts from Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.”



The Suns will reportedly still look to keep Paul, even if that means trading Deandre Ayton. But if they fail to do so, this trade could give them some more depth at a reasonable price.
