<p>The <strong>Texas Rangers</strong> made more noise than any other team in the Majors during the brief offseason. They committed nearly half a billion dollars to get one of the best middle infields in the league and fight with the Houston Astros for the top of the division.</p>
<p>But we’re still talking about a team that lost 102 games last season and <strong>Corey Seager and Marcus Semien</strong> aren’t enough to just turn that around. They need to add more pitching and fix their outfield defense, thus making Suzuki an obvious fit.</p>

<p>According to reports from ESPN’s <strong>Jeff Passan</strong> and <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/mlb" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>MLB</strong></a> Network’s Jon Morosi, <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/los-angeles-dodgers-t110773" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Dodgers</strong></a> star shortstop <strong>Corey Seager</strong> and the<strong> <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/texas-rangers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Texas Rangers</a></strong> have reached a<strong> 10-year agreement for $325 million</strong>. The deal would make Seager one of the highest paid players in the league.</p>
<p>On Sunday, the Rangers also locked former Toronto Blue Jays <strong>Marcus Semien</strong> with a seven-year, <strong>$175 million deal.</strong> According to other reports, the team also made deals with pitcher <strong>Jon Gray </strong>and right fielder <strong>Kole Calhoun.</strong></p>
<p>However, neither of those deals have been made official by the Rangers. According to Joel Sherman, the Rangers free agent-bill so far is <strong>$561.2 million. </strong>That’s more than twice the second-closest team, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/new-york-mets" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>New York Mets</strong></a>, who have spent more than $250 million.</p>

<h2>Corey Seager, latest Texas Rangers addition</h2>
<p>After they signed Semien, who has primarily played as shortstop in his career, MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reported that Texas was still in contact with <strong>Trevor Story, Javier Baez, Carlos Correa</strong> and Seager, who ultimately accepted the offer.</p>
<p>With Semien being able to play other infield positions, it makes sense that Texas wanted other shortstops. Seager, 27,<strong> hit .306 with 16 home runs</strong>, 22 doubles and 57 RBIs in 95 games in 2021 with the Dodgers.</p>
<p>Seager, who was the <strong>18th overall pick</strong> in the 2012 MLB draft, played seven seasons for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He’s a career .297 hitter with .870 OPS in his seven seasons. It’s clear that the team is trying to sign some great players in free agency after losing <strong>102 games in 2021.</strong></p>

They stayed in Washington until the team moved to Arlington, Texas in 1972, where they became the Rangers. The Rangers have a modest history when compared to the other teams we have featured in our <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/bolavip-jerseys-t137851" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MLB soccer jersey series</a>. <strong>They have never won a World Series and have won only two American League Pennants in 2010 and 2011. They have 7 Western Division titles and one wild card berth in 2012.</strong></p>
<p>Despite having a more modest history, the <a href="https://www.mlb.com/rangers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rangers</a> have had some exceptional players suit up for them, the likes of Nolan Ryan, Ferguson Jenkins, Iván Rodríguez, Buddy Bell, and Rubén Sierra to name a few.<strong> In 2010 and 2011 the Rangers played in back to back World Series but lost to the <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/mlb/san-francisco-giants-rock-this-mlb-soccer-jersey-20200828-0002.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">San Francisco Giants</a> and St. Louis Cardinals.</strong></p>
<p>We wanted to come up with some unique concepts for the Rangers and we used the Lone Star State as our inspiration. <strong>We adapted the home jersey design based on a very familiar figure in Texas, the cowboy, and the away jersey has elements of Guadalupe Mountains National Park in it as a homage to the great sights you can see in Texas!</strong></p>

<p><strong>The home jersey is inspired by the Texas Cowboy, via the design, we emulate the classic cowboy tartan vest and shirt.</strong> The color patterns are the Rangers classic red, white, and blue, and what isn’t all American like a cowboy? The crest is the classic sheriff’s badge and plays off of the phrase “The Lone Star” state. Within the badge is the Rangers cap logo, the “T”, is present in blue tone. On the back, the Texas flag runs along the neck as the jersey incorporates every element from Texas from the sheriff’s badge, the cowboy, and the state’s primary colors.</p>

<p><strong>Throughout the jersey there is a silhouette of Guadalupe Mountains National Park, the mountain range includes Guadalupe Peak, the highest point in Texas at 8,749 feet.</strong> The park covers 86,367 acres and is home tovarious animals such as elk, American black bear, coyote, bobcat, sixteen species of bat, mule deer, and cougar. Birds of this park include chickadee, sparrow, barn owl, woodpecker, turkey vulture, greater roadrunner, hummingbird, peregrine falcon, golden eagle, wren, and grosbeak.</p>

<p><strong>Fernando Tatís Jr</strong> has been stealing most of the headlines night in and night out since he made his pro debut with the San Diego Padres. This time, however, it seems like the same thing that makes him great rubbed some <a href="https://us.bolavip.com/mlb/mlb-managers-with-most-world-series-wins-20200813-0001.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MLB managers</a> the wrong way.</p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.mlb.com/padres" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Padres</a> were up 10-3 in the 8th inning and <em>‘El Niño’ </em>swung on a 3-0 pitch with the bases loaded, <strong>hitting his 11th home run of the season</strong> to add 4 more to the score. Needless to say, Rangers’ manager Chris Woodward didn’t take that lightly.</p>
<p>Woodward claimed that the 21-year-old superstar<strong> broke the “unwritten rules” of baseball </strong>by swinging on a 3-0 pitch with such a big lead, adding that none of his players or staff members took Tatís’ decision lightly:</p>

<p><em>“There’s a lot of unwritten rules that are constantly being challenged in today’s game.<strong> I didn’t like it, personally.</strong> You’re up by seven in the eighth inning; it’s typically not a good time to swing 3-0. It’s kind of the way we were all raised in the game. But, like I said, the norms are being challenged on a daily basis. So just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not right. I don’t think we liked it as a group,”</em> Woodward said.</p>

<p>The victims do have a point here. They may have a right to be salty after being blown out that way, even if there’s no guarantee that they won’t try to make a comeback, especially considering how poorly some bullpens have fared lately. But what strikes as a surprise is the fact that<strong> his own manager Jayce Tingler also criticized Tatísfor his Grand Slam:</strong></p>
<p><em>“He’s young, a free spirit and focused and all those things. That’s the last thing that we’ll ever take away. It’s a learning opportunity and that’s it. He’ll grow from it. Just so you know, a lot of our guys have green light 3-0. But in this game in particular, we had a little bit of a comfortable lead.<strong> We’re not trying to run up the score or anything like that</strong>,” </em>Tingler said.</p>

<p>Criticism by both <a href="https://www.mlb.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MLB </a>managers was so harsh that the Dominican shortstop had to apologize for his actions. ‘His actions’ meaning staying competitive and pursuing greatness <strong>even if that means angering the team you beat.</strong></p>
<p><em>“I’ve been in this game since I was a kid and I know a lot of unwritten rules but this time <strong>I was kind of lost on this one</strong> (…) but you know, those experiences, you got to learn from it. Probably next time, I take a pitch now that I learned from it,” </em>Tatís Jr said.</p>

Even so, there are some clubs that are still waiting to wrap their hands around the commissioner’s trophy once and for all.</p>

<p><strong>The Tampa Bay Rays</strong> have been slowly working their way through contention and, despite their ups and downs and the lack of a supportive fanbase, they even won an American League pennant in 2008. <strong>Sadly, they lost 4-1 in the World Series vs. the Phillies.</strong></p>

<p><strong>The Colorado Rockies </strong>have had their fair share of struggles throughout their history. They’re far from being a perennial contender and had never made it to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons until 2017 and 2018.</p>
<p><strong>The Rockies did make the World Series in 2007 </strong>but the Boston Red Sox were just too much to handle and swept them. They’ve struggled to win a playoffs series ever since and it doesn’t seem like that’s going to change any time soon.</p>

<p><strong>The Texas Rangers</strong> have been pretty close to the glory over the past decade but they’ve never been able to seal the deal when it mattered the most. They’ve become steady contenders for a playoffs berth but constantly underperform in tough situations.</p>
<p><strong>The <a href="https://www.mlb.com/rangers" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rangers</a> even made it to back-to-back World Series in 2010 and 2011</strong> but they lost to the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals, respectively. Hopefully, they’ll get back to the Fall Classic again in no time.</p>

<p>The<strong> San Diego Padres</strong> have the smallest market in California and that has been quite tough to overcome considering their lack of playoffs success and how much the team has struggled throughout history.</p>
<p><strong>They did make it to a couple of World Series in 1984 and 1998 </strong>but both times they had to deal with incredibly overpowered teams, the Detroit Tigers and the 114-game-winners New York Yankees. Tough luck.</p>
