Caitlin Clark wonāt be intimidated by her WNBA rivals. After another night filled with physicality from the Connecticut Sun, this was her reaction to the controversial actions by Jacy Sheldon and Marina Mabrey.
āAt the end of the day, Iām here to play basketball. Thatās my job. Thatās what Iām going to do. Iām a passionate player, but, at the end of the day, my gameās going to talk and thatās all that really matters. I love this game and Iām going to give it everything I have. So, I think thatās what competitors do. You step right back up to the challenge.ā
The Indiana Fever defeated the Sun 88-71, and with Caitlin Clark back from her quadriceps injury, Stephanie Whiteās team once again looks like a serious championship contender.
What happened with Caitlin Clark and the referees?
After the sequence in which Jacy Sheldon poked Caitlin Clark in the eye and Marina Mabrey sent her to the floor, the referees did not eject any Sun players. However, that doesnāt concern the Fever star, as sheās already used to opponents trying to make her lose her composure.
Clark even encouraged reporters at the press conference to stop asking questions about the controversy and instead focus on Indianaās ticket to the Commissionerās Cup Final.
