Caitlin Clark may have chosen to sit out the inaugural season of Unrivaled, the new 3v3 basketball league, but that didn’t stop her from keeping a close eye on the action. Ahead and after the championship game, which featured her Indiana Fever teammates Lexie Hull (representing Rose BC alongside Angel Reese) and Aliyah Boston (playing for Vinyl BC), Clark shared playful messages on social media.
Before the title match, Clark joked about the outcome, knowing one of her teammates would leave disappointed. “One of them about come back angry and one happy uh oh,” she wrote on Instagram.
In the end, it was Rose BC, without Reese, who claimed the first Unrivaled championship with a 62-54 win over Vinyl BC. The Fever’s social media team quickly congratulated Hull on the victory, posting: “@lexiehulll and Team Rose are your first-ever @unrivaledbasketball champions congrats, Lexie!”
Clark also sent a trolling six-word message to Boston following the loss. “@aliyah.boston you didn’t deserve this. I’m sorry,” she wrote. Boston replied with humor and appreciation: “@caitlinclark22 thanks pookie. I really needed this pick me up message from you.”

In that sense, Boston later reached out to Hull with a lighthearted request, saying, “Dinner on you maybe?” — a nod to the $50,000 prize Hull earned as part of the championship team. Meanwhile, Angel Reese also made a comment regarding the prize and her WNBA salary.

The WNBA is coming in May
Despite the banter, the camaraderie between the Indiana Fever stars will be important for the team, as the group played a key role in helping the franchise reach the WNBA playoffs last season for the first time since 2016.
The Fever, coached by Stephanie White, has brought experienced players like DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard, and Sophie Cunningham to team up with Clark, Lexie Hull, and Kelsey Mitchell. They prepare for the 2025 season opener against the Chicago Sky on May 17.
