The Indiana Fever are up for an intense match against Paige Bueckers’ Dallas Wings at American Airlines Center. However, Stephanie White’s side will be once again without star guard Caitlin Clark.
Caitlin has been officially ruled out of the game with a right groin injury, as confirmed in the league’s most recent status report. The Fever listed her as “out” ahead of tipoff, extending her absence in what has become a frustrating stretch for the rookie star.
Clark has been out of action since July 15 and missed the All-Star Game in Indianapolis due a right groin injury. She’s been sidelined for the past five games, and the Fever hasn’t provided a timeline for her return yet.
Clark has posted averages of 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, and five rebounds across 13 games for the Fever this season, but injuries have caused her to miss half of Indiana’s schedule. In total, she has been out for 14 matches this year.
The right groin injury is the fourth muscular problem Clark has had to deal with. After suffering a quad strain in the preseason, the 2024 Rookie of the Year also missed matches due to a left quad injury and a left groin issue.

The schedule is the problem?
White recently said (via USA Today contributor Cydney Henderson) that the schedule doesn’t help with recovery. “You see more injuries when you don’t have a chance to recover, but it’s not like individual teams are the only ones that deal with it. This is a league-wide, collective issue,” she explained.
The Fever want to extend their winning streak
Despite Clark’s absence, the Fever have won their last three games, with Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston leading the team. After their match in Dallas, the Fever will visit Seattle (Aug. 3), Los Angeles (Aug. 5), and Phoenix (Aug. 7) over the course of a week.
