The NFL Draft is just around the corner, which means that we’re going to see plenty of action in the upcoming days. Rumors, trades left and right, and even superstars changing teams could be happening any minute now.

That’s why all eyes around the NFLare set on the Atlanta Falcons and Julio Jones, as the team is most likely heading towards a rebuild and plenty of franchises would be interested in trading for the 32-year-old superstar.

Plenty of people have claimed that the Falcons are already fielding calls regarding Jones’ availability, and their GM Terry Fontenot confirmed in an interview with Fox Sports that a trade could be happening pretty soon.

Falcons GM Terry Fontenot Admits The Team Is Listening To Offers For Julio Jones

“That’s one of those things when you’re doing things the right way as an organization, you have to listen if people call on any player. We are in a difficult cap situation. That’s just the circumstance. It’s not a surprise for us. We knew the circumstance we were in,” Fontenot said.

“Our administration has done an excellent job up to this point getting us in position to be able to manage the cap. Yet, we still have more work to do. So, when teams call about any players, we have to listen, and we have to weigh it and we have to determine what’s best for the organization, and we have to handle everything with class. Obviously, that particular player we hold him in high regard. He’s special what he’s done and what he continues to do here, but we have to consider any player if it’s right for the team, because we have to do what’s right for the team,” he concluded.

The Falcons would save north of $15 million by parting ways with their injury-prone superstar but it would be wise for them to wait until after June 1 to make a move, as the trade wouldn’t have to include picks.

There’s no doubt that Julio Jones is one of the most talented, dominant, and athletic players to ever lace them up in the NFL but he’s not getting any younger or his value any higher, so now’s the time to part ways with him.
