Cousins was 7-7 last season with the Falcons and has been on a steep decline since 2023. He had two Pro Bowl seasons in 2021 and 2022, but after that, it’s not been good. He also played against the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/carolina-panthers" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Panthers</a> last time where they were shut out. <h2>Penix wasn’t stellar either</h2>



Missing Penix is not nice. Still, it’s not like an MVP-caliber quarterback is gone. Penix is still learning the ropes of the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a>. He has shown flashes of talent but he was still a middle-of-the-pack quarterback.



Penix is 3-6, completing 60.1% of his passes for 1,982 yards, nine touchdowns and three interceptions. His passer rating is very average too with an 88.5 rate. The season for the Falcons is almost lost, and the quarterback play is one of the main reasons why.

Hoping to stay alive in their pursuit for the NFC South title, the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/atlanta-falcons" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Atlanta Falcons</a> and Carolina Panthers meet at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. However, there might be a key factor to the divisional matchup in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season, as Drake London has been confirmed to play.



Concern around London’s status wasn’t limited to the fanbase in Atlanta. Fans across the country were stressed about the star wideout’s availability for fantasy football reasons. With one of the best wide receivers in the <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/nfl" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">NFL</a> in doubt for such a pivotal game for the Falcons, concerns had grown loud in the Gate City of the South.



Initially listed as questionable due to a back injury and illness, insider Adam Schefter reports London will be active for the matchup between the 3-6 Falcons and the 5-5 Panthers in Week 11 of the NFL campaign.



Michael Penix Jr. and the Falcons’ offense rely heavily on their WR1’s production. So far in the 2025 NFL season, London has virtually been the entire passing attack for Atlanta. With him in the lineup, running backs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier get a big weight off their shoulders. Plus, his presence keeps Carolina on its toes, as Atlanta can be lethal both through the ground and air.

The product out of the University of Southern California has had a magical season in his fourth year in the NFL. So far, through 8 appearances, London registers 53 receptions for 691 receiving yards — 7th best in the league — and 6 touchdown catches, which is tied for fourth most.

With him in the lineup, the Falcons can truly put together a two-headed monster with an impressive passing game and a second-to-none rushing attack with the likes of Robinson and Allgeier. However, both sides of the offense are complementary. If one side crumbles, the other is left out to dry.



<h2>Wipe the slate clean</h2>



The Panthers are a better team than most fans in the NFL gave them credit for coming into the season. Carolina proved its worth with a commanding 30-0 victory over Atlanta—a precedent that is sure to be floating over the Falcons’ heads as they head into the rematch.



There’s much to prove for Raheem Morris’ side. With or without London, the Falcons must change the tune and give the Panthers a taste of their own medicine. If not, falling to 3-7 without yet registering a divisional victory could well be all she wrote for the organization in The Big Peach.

In his last five games, he’s overcome the 100-yard mark four times. Also, he’s scored six touchdowns in that span.

As a whole, he has 691 yards, six touchdowns and when targeted, the quarterback’s passer rating is 106.5. Therefore, Penix and <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/topic/drake-london" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">London</a> are building quite some chemistry.

<h2>The Falcons offense has to start producing consistently</h2>



There are five first rounders in the Falcons’ offense. Penix is one of them. Bijan Robinson, running back, too. Then you add London and tight end Kyle Pitts. Hence, the expectations for the offense are very high.



But, the Falcons offense is a very inconsistent unit. The team has scored 20 or more points six times this season. Conversely, the offense has scored 10 or less points three times. The Falcons need consistency.

“That’s just the running style that I have,” Allgeier said. “I pride myself on not getting tackled by one guy. If they do, shoot, it’s a really super, really good tackle.”

“He’s one of those guys that just comes to work every day and does his job,” Morris said. “We talk about these operational executions, these operations pieces, and it’s just what Tyler is. Wherever you put him, whatever you ask him to do, he’s able to go out there and have that resiliency and that toughness. He’s able to just play the game, play the play — whatever it is — and be ready to go. That’s why we love him.”



In nine games played, he has carried the ball 74 times for 270 yards and six touchdowns. He is tied with London as the two players with the most scores this season, and he’s not stopping there.

While they put up a good fight, it wasn’t enough against the Colts, and some think their head coach was responsible for their shortcoming.&nbsp;

Raheem Morris’ clock management has been under scrutiny this season, and Sunday’s game wasn’t the exception. “The Falcons opt not to take the timeout,” said Adam Amin. “The Colts are happy, now, at third-and-long to let the clock move down a little bit, but Atlanta did not use a timeout.”



After safety Jessie Bates III intercepted a Daniel Jones pass with 21 seconds left, the Falcons only had eight seconds to try to score. Bates was then flagged for taunting, and the team was moved back to its 23-yard line.&nbsp;



Amin noted that Morris could have managed the clock better, noting that the coach has been criticized over that since he arrived in Atlanta.&nbsp;



“If you take that timeout, the clock was at about 30 seconds plus when Kaden Elliss got that sack,” Amin said. “You could’ve used that timeout. If there is one criticism that’s been hanging around Raheem Morris over the last year plus as the head coach of the Falcons, it is clock management. It feels like it could’ve been an opportunity there.”



The Falcons have been one of the most inconsistent teams this season, and the issues appear to stem from their coaching staff.&nbsp;
