Not long after the 2004 Copa America final, Argentina and Brazil met again for a tournament decider in the FIFA Confederations Cup final in 2005. However, it was another disappointing memory for La Albiceleste, as La Canarinha put four past them to win the title.

The last time Brazil and Argentina clashed in a tournament final took place about 14 years ago in the 2007 Copa America final in Venezuela. Once again, the five-time world champions were ruthless against La Albiceleste and secured the trophy in great fashion.

Julio Baptista, Roberto Ayala‘s own goal, and Dani Alves sealed the 3-0 victory for Brazil to extend La Albiceleste’s drought and increase Brazil’s dominance over Argentina in the finals.

The outlook for Argentina ahead of the Copa America 2021 final isn’t encouraging as they lostin three of their four finals against Brazil. Will they reverse fortunes this time? Or will Brazil prove their strength once again?
