With Cooper Flagg taking his talents to the pros and most likely becoming the first-overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, the Duke Blue Devils needed to find a suitable replacement.
Fortunately for them, they had already landed two elite recruits in Cameron and Cayden Boozer, sons of former Blue Devil Carlos Boozer, and two of the most promising players in the class.
Cameron is one of the highest-ranked players entering college basketball right now. Standing at 6-foot-9, he’s a strong candidate to be a one-and-done guy and take his talents to the NBA. And according to Adam Finkelstein of 247 Sports, he’s similar to Al Horford.
NBA analyst compares Cameron Boozer to Al Horford
“Boozer is the surest thing in high school basketball. No one can match his resume of winning or is better suited to help impact winning from day one as a college freshman,” he wrote. “He has an extremely versatile and mature two-way floor game. It’s just hard to envision a scenario where he’s not a successful basketball player at the highest levels for years to come, which is why he is often credited for having the highest long-term floor in the country.”

Al Horford of the Boston Celtics
Granted, Horford was a top-ten NBA Draft selection at the time, and there’s plenty to like about his game as a serviceable veteran and one of the most underrated players of his generation.
Then again, with all due respect to the Boston Celtics PF/C, Cameron Boozer will strive to become a perennial All-Star and maybe even an MVP candidate, which is above Horford’s league.
