Regardless of his wonderful run this season with the Portland Trail Blazers, Damian Lillard was snubbed from the 2021 All-Star Game starters, announced by the league this Thursday. The talented point guard couldn’t surpass Luka Doncic on the voting fan and now will probably be a reserve in the upcoming game.

NBA fans took to social media to show their disagreement with the 30-year-old being relegated to the bench in the game, calling out other fans, the league and even Doncic for being a “stat-padder” while Dame has led his team to the 4th position in the West.

Everybody was waiting for Lillard's reaction to this and he finally opened up about the situation, having a big response to the voting and the decision made by fans. The player is on a tear right now and not seeing him earning that spot doesn’t sit well with anybody.

Damian Lillard reveals his feelings on being snubbed from ASG starters

Even though a lot of fans didn’t like this decision, Dame is totally fine with it, as he recently revealed. The player made it clear that being a starter was important when he was younger but now things are different and he is in peace with that.

“When I was younger I cared a lot more. It's obviously an accomplishment and something I haven't done so I would have liked to. But I honestly wasn't surprised. I wasn't upset about it. I kind of wasn't expecting it. I'm really not trippin honestly.”

Right now he is the most clutch player in the association, leading the league in five categories when crunch time arrives. He has led the Blazers to be one of the four best teams in the West, even without CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic, doing more than Luka for his team but that didn’t make much difference for the fans.

We’re pretty sure he will keep playing at a great level and will let the game do the talk. Damian has been overlooked for quite some time now and even after his big performances in the last two seasons, that hasn’t changed for the player.
