“No message, man…They still got the Lakers. The Lakers supposed to win. That’s just how it’s supposed to go. We’re not supposed to be here, so we just going to compete to the best of our ability,“ stated Anthony Edwards on ESPN.

Instead, they shared offensive responsibilities across the roster. As a result, the Lakers struggled to contain them. Before the game against the Lakers, Anthony Edwards had already drawn praise for his mindset going into the playoffs. His teammate Nickeil Alexander-Walker highlighted Edwards’ maturity and leadership: “He’s kinda humbly taken that step back to say, ‘Listen, this might not be the Ant series because I’m gonna need you guys because of how they’re gonna play me…He’s going to be aggressive. He’s going to be Ant.”

Everything went according to plan. The Lakers managed to limit Anthony Edwards’ scoring. Even so, the Timberwolves’ star stayed involved in other ways.
