Well, to say that 2020 has been a wild year would be a bit of an understatement, and it applies to every single aspect of life, including sports. Especially if we talk about the NFL and this obstacle-riddled season.

We’ve seen some incredible things through the first 16 weeks of the regular season. The New York Jets giving away a sure chance to land the 1st-overall pick and Trevor Lawrence, players opting out of the season, gruesome injuries, games on a Tuesday evening, you name it.

And even though the Dallas Cowboys have been one of the worst teams in football this season, they still have a chance at winning their division and even hosting a playoff game. Yeah, that’s 2020 right there, folks.

That’s why star running back Ezekiel Elliott hilariously reacted to the possibility of still making the playoffs despite playing with 4 different quarterbacks and not being over .500 in the whole season:

“I mean, it’s a little weird—but this is a weird-*ssyear. Like, if there was a year, this would be the year. So we’re gonna get back to work and get ready to do everything we can to go win next week, so we can have a chance at winning this division,” Elliott told the media.

The Cowboys are currently riding a 3-game winning streak and could put the cherry on top of the sundae by beating the New York Giants. However, they’d still need the quarterback-less Washington Football Team to lose to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football.

Perhaps none of these teams deserve to be in the playoffs and the league should take a look at its seeding policy but it has nothing to do with deserving at this point. So yeah, America’s Team still has a chance.
