Ben Roethlisberger maintains a very critical stance toward the Pittsburgh Steelers after another disappointing season. The former quarterback spoke in his podcast Footbahlin about Art Rooney IIâs statements, in which the owner said there would be âa couple of changes,â but not âwholesaleâ changes.
âTo me that feels like youâre happy with what you have, youâre just not happy with how what you have is performing. Again, I donât know what changes are you making. I feel like when those kind of things are said, itâs like, ok, weâre not getting rid of the big dog, weâre not getting of the coordinators, but thereâs always got to be a scapegoat somewhere.â
Roethlisberger, who won the Super Bowl twice with the Steelers, even went further and took a risk by naming someone who could lose their job in the series of changes promised by Rooney.
What is Mike Tomlinâs future?
Mike Tomlin will remain as head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but after hearing the words of owner Art Rooney II, Ben Roethlisberger hinted at who could leave the team as the potential scapegoat.
âThat scapegoat is going to end up being like, I hope not, Danny Smith, the special teams coach, which I donât know how you could because their special teams were unbelievable this year, or itâs like, running back coach, tight ends coach, offensive line coach. Thereâs always someone. Itâs like, we have to put it on somebody.â
