Mike Tomlin spoke for the first time about Aaron Rodgers and the quarterbackâs recent visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although the head coach was very cautious at the annual owners meeting, he couldnât hide his interest in the star.
âItâs been reported that he spent a day with us and it was a really good day. Specifically, he and I obviously have known of each other for some time. So, it was really good to spend some time together, man, and get to know each other more intimately, but it is free agency. Itâs a process. I have nothing of any more significance to add other than that.â
Rodgers is waiting for the best opportunity to win one last Super Bowl, and his options have narrowed down to the Steelers and, in a more complicated scenario, the Minnesota Vikings if they are not convinced that J.J. McCarthy is the best option.
Is Aaron Rodgers a free agent?
Yes. Aaron Rodgers is a free agent, which has given the quarterback the privilege of taking all the time he wants to make a final decision. Because of this, Mike Tomlin admitted that there is no deadline.
âNot to my knowledge. I donât know that weâve approached it from a deadline perspective. Certainly, as I mentioned, youâd like to have settled circumstances, but deadlines donât often bring that to a head.â
