The 2021 NFL divisional round is here and the Chiefs are ready to face a very dangerous rival that features one player that brought a lot of joy to fans in Kansas. Kareem Hunt will be facing his former team and he will try to get a good game.

The Browns showed a lot of good things last week when they eliminated Pittsburgh Steelers from the playoffs and now the Chiefs could be their next victim. Mahomes had nothing but good words to say about the running back, remembering all the good moments they spent together in Kansas.

The 2020 Super Bowl champion appeared on KCSP Sports Radio in Kansas City, where he revealed that his relationship with Hunt is still close and he can’t wait to see him this Sunday in a very important game for both players.

“That’s my dude, man,’’ Mahomes said, via Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com. “I came in with Kareem, and obviously we’re not together anymore, but I still stay in touch. He’s a heck of a football player, and someone who was one of my best friends when we first got on the team together.’’

Pat also talked about Hunt as a player, explaining that he’s a great one and that all the players on the roster remember him as a very good friend who was always good to the rest of the squad.

“I don’t want to talk about a lot of it, but I just talked to the guys because Kareem was one of our dudes, man,’’ Mahomes said. “He was not only a great football player, but he was one of our best friends on the team. We had to continue to battle forward at an unfortunate time, but at the same time, I still have a relationship with Kareem and he’s still one of my good friends.’’

Hunt left the Chiefs in 2018 after a video of him in an altercation with a woman surfaced. Kansas didn’t have more choice than to part ways with him despite them being aware of the situation. The team didn’t consider that Hunt was completely honest about the incident and their fruitful association came to an end.

Now he’s part of the Browns, where he’s part of a very talented offensive line that has done a lot for this team. The Browns are inspired this postseason and the Chiefs should be aware that this team won’t be an easy task for them.
