After winning multiple rings on the field, Tom Brady experienced his first Super Bowl as an analyst in February, when Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles outplayed Patrick Mahomes’ Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans.

Brady had plenty of things to say about the game during and after the broadcast, but even months later, the seven-time Super Bowl champion continues to share his feelings about the Eagles’ win over the Chiefs.

Recently, Complex shared a video of Brady leading a walkthrough of his CardVault store at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey. After noticing a Patrick Mahomes 2017 Donruss Optic Rookie Autograph Holo card, Brady heaped praise on the Chiefs star, revealing that he’d have liked to see Mahomes achieve the three-peat in Super Bowl LIX.

“If he (Mahomes) does break the records, and even last year, they had a chance to go for a three-peat, I would have been so happy to be there to watch it,” Brady said, via Chiefs Wire.

“When you accomplish a lot, and is very fortunate to do that, like you have people that are doing incredible things. I always think we should talk about those things. How remarkable they really are, because that’s really what’s inspiring about it. You want other people always to see what you’re doing, and you set a certain bar, and then they go after it.”

Brady believes Super Bowl LIX loss will be hard to forget for Mahomes

Super Bowl LIX was a nightmare for Mahomes and the Chiefs, who were completely dominated by Hurts‘ Eagles in New Orleans. Even though he wasn’t on the field, Brady knows what that kind of loss feels like.

I think about, unfortunately, the three [Super Bowl] losses probably more than I think about the seven wins,” Brady admitted during the FOX broadcast. It hurts to lose this game. We lost to the Giants in 2007. That was 17 years ago. We were on the precipice of history and we faced a Giants team that played their hearts out that day and beat us. I still haven’t really lived it down, because you care so deeply. And I know that this Chiefs team does as well. Patrick is the ultimate competitor. The reality of a loss in this game is you don’t ever get over them.

Brady, however, made it clear that he believes in Mahomes and the Chiefs‘ ability to bounce back from this kind of setback: “If there’s anybody that can rebound, it’s Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, this organization and what they’re built on.”

Mahomes chasing Brady’s record of titles

Mahomes is four rings shy of Brady, having won the Super Bowl three times with the Chiefs. At 29—he turns 30 in September—he still has time to chase the record set by the former New England Patriots quarterback, whose last ring came with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Curiously, Brady beat none other than Mahomes’ Chiefs to claim his seventh championship.

An early Super Bowl LIX rematch

As Brady said, the loss to the Eagles will probably live in Mahomes’ memory for a while. Fortunately, the Chiefs will have an opportunity to seek revenge against Philadelphia early in the 2025 NFL season. In Week 2, Kansas City will host Hurts and company in a highly anticipated Super Bowl LIX rematch.
