Wales vs England: Who will be the referee for the World Cup Group B match?

Wales and England will face in a British derby with plenty at stake. Both could still make it to the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup, so the referee could play a vital role here.

Most soccer fans love to blame the referee when things aren’t going their way, and theQatar 2022 FIFA World Cup hasn’t been short on close calls and overturned goals. Hopefully, that won’t be the case in today’s clash between Wales and England.

The Welsh can still make it to the knockout stage after drawing with the USMNT and losing to Iran, but England is heavily favored after logging four points in their first two matchups and dominating Wales more often than not.

But hey, we’ve already seen miracles happen, so there’s still hope for Gareth Bale and company. Should that be the case, there’s no wonder English fans will talk about the referees, so we might as well get to know him.

The Maribor-born principal has been a professional referee since 2007, but it wasn’t until 2009 that he was called to referee an international matchup. He’s taken part in six World Cup qualifiers ever since, and this is his first time as a World Cup referee, making his debut in Argentina’s shocking 1-2 loss to Saudi Arabia.
