Euro 2020 was full of pleasant surprises, such as Denmark's run to the semi-finals and its young sensation Mikkel Damsgaard. The Danish national team has overcome a tough start with Christian Ericksen's cardiac arrest in the opening game and the Sampdoria player was up to the challenge of filling his shoes.

Damsgaard, 21, has helped his side reaching the knockout stages by scoring one goal in Denmark's 4-1 win over Russia on Matchday 3, and kept on impressing in the following games. In the semi-final affair against England, Damsgaard's beautiful free-kick goal was the first time Jordan Pickford conceded in Euro 2020.

Therefore, the left winger has immediately caught the attention of several European sides. TottenhamEverton, Leeds United, Leicester City, and AS Roma are some of them, according to Tuttosport. However, some of the mightiest clubs in the Old Continent would have Damsgaard on their radar as well.

Real Madrid

Los Blancos are reportedly the latest side to join the race for the signing of the Danish sensation. However, Real Madrid would have to satisfy Sampdoria's high demands, as the Italian club apparently wants to have Damsgaard for another year.

Juventus

The Serie A giants are another interested team in Damsgaard, yet Sampdoria's pretensions could be unaffordable for Juventus. According to TransferMarkt, the 21-year-old's market value is $14.30 million but his club reportedly wants over $40 million, which would force the Old Lady to reconsider his arrival this summer.

Barcelona

The Italian newspaper has also linked Denmark's prodigy with La Liga giants Barcelona, but it is well known that the Spanish side can't afford big signings right now. The Cules have been landing players for free and should they somehow manage to spend money, they might do it for a more experienced star. However, Barca are used to work on the long-term as well so Damsgaard could fit in their plans.

AC Milan

The Rossoneri are understood to interested in Mikkel Damsgaard, knowing him very well from the Serie A. AC Milan let Hakan Calhanoglu leave for Inter Milan so they are hoping to land another playmaker to fill his vacancy. Real Madrid's Dani Ceballos is on their radar but he might be a difficult target while negotiating with Sampdoria seems like a better option. Still, they would have to satisfy their terms or make a big effort to reach an agreement for a lower price.

Inter Milan

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Damsgaard is AC Milan's "dream target," but their city rivals have been also linked with him. Inter Milan can't spend much this summer but the Sampdoria player has caught their eye. As long as La Samp reduce their demands, the Nerazzurri could advance in their signing.

Liverpool

The Euro 2020 breakout player has also attracted interest from the Premier League, as the Reds have reportedly joined Spurs in the chase of Damsgaard. Liverpool, however, would also have to deal with Sampdoria's unwillingness to sell their young talent while they would demand over $40 million.

Damsgaard is under contract with the Serie A team until 2024. He has taken part in five games during the Euros in which he scored twice and provided one assist. Mikkel Damsgaard stepped up when Denmark needed it and now he could chase a huge challenge in his career.
