Libertad will try to beat Independiente Medellin today to secure a spot in the knockout stage of the Copa CONMEBOL Libertadores 2020. Check out all the details about this exciting soccer game, such as the match preview, information, storylines, predictions, odds and how to watch it.

Libertad come from a big victory over Guaireña in the Paraguayan Primera División. They earned their first three points of the season over the weekend, ranking first in the standings. El Gumarelo expected to have less competition in Group H of the competition, but Caracas surprised everybody, beating them at home to take over the 2nd place of the group.

Independiente Medellin have nothing to fight for now, but they hope to get a victory and damage Libertad’s plans, just like they did against Caracas in Matchday 5. The Colombian side had bigger expectations for this campaign but they couldn’t get the right results to fight with the other three teams of the zone.

Libertad vs Independiente Medellín: Storylines

Libertad returned to action in July. They are in good shape now and everything points out they will take care of Independiente Medellín without major problems. They haven’t lost a game in their last three matches and this Thursday they hope to extend that streak against a diminished rival in Medellín.

Independiente, on the other hand, aren’t going through the best time right now. They have only won one game this Copa Libertadores against Caracas last month. After that, they have only won one of their last four games, collecting three losses and one draw during that time. Over the weekend, they lost against Deportivo Pasto by 2-1.

There are no reasons to think that DIM are going to put up a fight this Thursday and Libertad will try to take the most advantage of it.
