The 2021-2022 UEFA Champions League will bring together the best teams and players across Europe once again. While the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona are always heavyweight candidates, this year will probably see PSG as one of the main favorites.

That has a lot to do with their brilliant job in the summer transfer window and the historic signing of Argentine megastar Lionel Messi, widely regarded as the world's best. Besides landing a fantastic player, Paris Saint-Germain brought a guy who knows what tasting continental glory is like.

During his memorable tenure with Barca, Messi has cemented a lasting legacy and went on to become one of the best of all time. His span at the Camp Nou saw him lift La Liga, Copa del Rey, and of course, Champions League trophies.

Lionel Messi's Champions League titles

Lionel Messi first had a taste of European success in 2006, when Barcelona upset Arsenal in an epic come-from-behind victory. He was young then, but that would be just one of the many titles to come his way.

It didn't take long for Messi to get his hands on the highly desired trophy again. Three years later, Pep Guardiola led the Cules to their first UCL title under his tenure and Messi sealed the victory with a header in the second half against Manchester United.

Only a couple of seasons later, Barca and the Red Devils were head-to-head again in the quest for the ultimate glory. Once again, Guardiola's Barcelona emerged victorious and Messi scored the second goal of the 3-1 triumph.

The next - and last - Champions League title for Messi came in 2015, when the Catalans defeated Juventus in Berlin to be crowned with the powerful MSN (Messi, Suarez, Neymar) front three. So, Lionel Messi won four Champions League titles so far. Following many disappointing results over the last few years, will he find success again in Paris?
