The first 45 minutes were quite complicated for the hosts, who were unable to break the deadlock as the visitors had successfuly held on to the goalless scoresheet. However, Liverpool came back stronger after half time and quickly put themselves in front through an own goal by Pervis Estupiñan, who deflected Jordan Henderson's cross. Sadio Mane extended the lead a few minutes later by finishing off a great collective play.
