TheGreen Bay Packers were one of the most solid and consistent teams in the National Football League this season. They piled up an impressive 13-3 record and will now host the NFC Championship Game for the first time in Aaron Rodgers’ career.
Nonetheless, on the opposite side of the gridiron, the Rodgers and the Packers will have to play one of the three teams that actually beat them in the regular season, theTom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Bruce Arians’ team handed them their first game of the season in Week 6, a humiliating 10-38 set-back on the road that has made a lot of people question whether they can get back at them on Sunday or not.
Aaron Rodgers Isn’t Worried About Facing The Buccaneers Again
Then again, that’s not Aaron Rodgers’ case. When asked about how important it was to take that loss into account, the number 12 seemed unfazed and reminded everybody that the playoffs are a completely different thing to the regular season:
“I think the Week 6 game matters as much as when the Saints went to their place and beat them 38-3,” Rodgers said on an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.
He’s got a valid point right there. The New Orleans Saints thrashed Brady and the Buccaneers twice in the year but then couldn’t beat them at home in the playoffs. Also, this time the Packers will host them at Lambeau Field rather than traveling to Tampa Bay again.
Thus far, Brady holds a 2-1 edge in the all-time rivalry vs. Rodgers but this will be the very first time that they meet in the playoffs, so this is definitely must-watch television for football fans all over the world, especially those who dreamed of this Super Bowl matchup from Brady’s days with the New England Patriots.
