Ivory Coast had a dream start to their 2026 World Cup campaign as they managed to get a late goal by Amad Diallo to beat Ecuador. The game didn’t disappoint as it was a very intense matchup from the get-go.

Ivory Coast struggled in the first half but improved on the second against an Ecuador team that was very well prepared. It is a crucial win for the Elephants who want to make this their best World Cup appearance to date.

Ecuador and Ivory Coast both will face Curaçao, but with different intentions. Ecuador now needs to win in devastating fashion to recover morale and boost their goal difference.
